How to Use Your Card

How is my information saved on a recipient’s device?

It will be saved to the recipient’s contact app on their device.

On an Apple device:

  • Tap the card on your phone or click the QR code on the back.
  • After the card appears, select "Save Contact."
  • Once the contact information is displayed, click "Create New Contact." This will open the contact card page for that specific contact.
  • To save the contact in your phone, click "Done" in the upper right corner.

On an Android device:

  • Tap the card on your phone or click the QR code on the back.
  • "Save Contact."
  • The contact may download as a VCF file if prompted.
  • Find the downloaded VCF file. This should be the device's "Downloads" folder.
  • Open the file and choose your device's contacts app to open it.
  • Select the contacts app to import details into your device's contact list.

Can I update my profile after it's created?

Absolutely! One of the best features of our digital business cards is their flexibility. You can update your profile information and contact details at any time ensuring your card always reflects you. Tap your card to your mobile device or login to your use account at cards.wcdconnet.com.

What privacy measures are in place?

User accounts are encrypted and protected, however the contact information you share with the people you meet is public. Contact sharing is weblink-based and can be shared as you please. WCD will not sell or share user account information and will not have access to your social media accounts.

Do recipients need an app to receive my card?

No. Recipients do not need a specific app to receive your digital business card. They can view your card with most smartphones or a QR code scanner, making it accessible for everyone you meet.

What smartphone and mobile devices are compatible?

Most Apple and Android devices made after 2018 are compatible with NFC technology. Devices made prior to 2018 may not work.

What information is added to a contact card?

It is up to you. Fields are not mandatory so you can fill out as much or as little information as you would like. Custom field requirements can be set up for corporate customers with corporate standards. Development fees may apply. Speak with your account manager for details.

Can I edit my profile on a desktop computer, or can I only use my smartphone?

Both. Upon activation using your smartphone, you will create a username and profile to log into your account. After this is complete, you can update information on any device that you access the internet by going to cards.wcdconnect.com.

Do profile changes in my user account automatically update with everyone I’ve shared my contact information with?

No. Once a recipient downloads your contact information and hits “Save”, it is saved into the contact app on their smartphone or mobile device. Any changes to your information will need to be updated manually.

Is there an environmental benefit?

Yes. Digital business cards are considered an eco-friendly alternative to traditional paper cards. By switching to a single digital card that can be updated as required and is used many times, reduces paper waste and contributes to a more sustainable way of networking.

How to Order Cards

Can I order more than one card?

Yes. Multiple cards can be ordered and activated under your account. Quantity discounts are available.

Can I replace a lost card?

Yes. To order a replacement card, please contact cards@wcdconnect.com. A small replacement fee will be charged.

What material is the card printed on?

Digital Business Cards have a thickness comparable to standard drivers’ licenses and are printed with .40mil durable plastic material. The cards are both flexible and water resistant.

What are the print and card material options?

Currently, WCD is offering both white and matte black cards using single colour print including white, black, gold or silver. Cards to match branding requirements for corporate customers with high volume orders are available. Additional set up fees will apply.

Can I order cards in custom colours?

Yes. For corporate customers with high volume orders, special order cards are available to match brand guidelines at an extra cost. Speak with your account manager for details.
