Passionately serving people and the community that sustains us.
WCD is a steadfast Canadian company that has made business personal for 70 years. Since 1952, we have given back by contributing to initiatives that have played a fundamental role in building the communities in which we work today.
Each year, we support non-profits and charitable causes by contributing volunteer hours, sponsoring community initiatives and donating materials in-kind to the organizations that align with our values.
Driving Change in Education
We support education because it is the foundation upon which we build our communities. Our business breeds a positive culture for entrepreneurs, doers, collaborators and team players by encouraging growth and providing learning opportunities for our employees.
Empowering Women & Diversity
We aspire to a day where there are no “female leaders”, there are simply “leaders.” We support women with equal opportunities within our business, and we work alongside inspiring organizations including YW Calgary, Women of Influence and the Calgary Women’s Emergency Shelter.
Igniting Innovation & Entrepreneurship
We foster an entrepreneurial environment that encourages ideas and innovation, always striving to stay ahead of the curve. And because we want to see the community succeed, we support Canadian innovation and entrepreneurs through organizations like the Edmonton Chamber of Commerce, Calgary Chamber of Commerce and SingularityU Canada.
Promoting Sports & Entertainment
We encourage sport because it rallies our communities, brings us together and generates a collective sense of pride. We proudly support organizations including Sport Calgary, Spruce Meadows, the Calgary Stampede and the Professional Golfers Association (PGA) that have all been a part of Canada’s great sporting history.
Caring for Our Neighbours
We are passionate about serving the community that sustains us. When our neighbours need a helping hand, we come together as a team to provide support where it’s needed. We work with community support agencies like the Military Family Resource Centre, the United Way and the Calgary Food Bank.
